Buying on Kokit

• Kokit is a marketplace and intermediary - when you buy, the contract is directly between you and the food creator. Kokit is not the seller, but it processes your payment and runs the support and complaint channels.
• You must be at least 16 to hold an account. Payments are handled by Stripe, and prices include VAT where applicable.
• The 14-day right to withdraw does not apply to prepared food (perishable) or to digital content once you have started accessing it with your express consent; creator subscriptions keep a 14-day right from the first payment unless you asked to start immediately.
• If an order does not arrive, is unsafe, or is materially not as described, you are entitled to a remedy - report it in the app within 48 hours (food) or 14 days (digital content and classes), and Kokit arranges a refund, credit or replacement.
• Subscriptions renew automatically; you can cancel any time to stop the next renewal, and you keep access for the period already paid.
• Kokit's liability to you in any 12-month period is capped at the greater of the fees it charged you or €100 - this never limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud.
• Governed by Finnish law, with the courts of Finland (District Court of Varsinais-Suomi). Mandatory consumer rights in your own country still apply, and no binding arbitration is required.

Privacy Policy

How we handle your data

• Slum Boy Oy is the data controller under the GDPR. Our privacy contact is hi@kokit.fi.
• Allergen and dietary information is treated as special-category health data and is used only with your explicit consent, to help a creator prepare your food safely.
• When you order, a creator receives only what is needed to fulfil it - your name, delivery details, order contents and any allergen notes. Card details are processed by Stripe and never stored by Kokit.
• Processors include Stripe, Google Firebase, and Anthropic & Google (Gemini) for AI features, under terms that exclude using your data to train their models. Kokit does not sell your data or run cross-site behavioural advertising.
• Retention: account data up to 3 years after closure, order records 10 years (Finnish tax and DAC7 duties), messages 3 years, and device or analytics data up to 26 months.
• Your rights: access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawing consent - email hi@kokit.fi and we respond within one month.
• Data is encrypted in transit and at rest; a reportable breach is notified to the Finnish authority within 72 hours. You can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi) or your own EU country's authority.

Tracking and automation

• Four cookie categories: strictly necessary (always on, no consent needed), plus functional, analytics and marketing, which are used only with your consent.
• Rejecting is as easy as accepting, no non-essential cookies are set before you choose, and there are no third-party advertising trackers. You can change your choices any time in Settings › Privacy › Cookie preferences.
• Permissions - location, notifications, camera, payment, allergen data and marketing emails - are each requested only when the feature needs them. Marketing email is opt-in and unticked by default.
• AI transparency, under Article 50 of the EU AI Act: a creator's AI agent messaging you is clearly labelled, recommendations are marked, moderation actions are explained, and AI drafts are never sent to you before the creator approves them.

How we treat each other

• The basics: real food and real people, respect both ways, food only, consistency over perfection, and safety first.
• Never allowed and removed on sight: sexual or explicit content, anything involving minors, illegal goods, hate speech, graphic violence, off-topic content used to lure people off the platform, and unauthorised tracking.
• Creators must use their own real photos, list allergens honestly and completely, and keep their availability current.
• Report anything with the in-app Report button or hi@kokit.fi; for an immediate safety risk, email us with URGENT in the subject line.
• Enforcement follows a predictable ladder - a heads-up, then a warning, a temporary restriction, and removal for serious cases - always with a reason, and every decision can be appealed to a human.
